About the role

To support our growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a General Manager to join our team, based in Geelong.

This dynamic role has broad and evolving responsibilities, to establish, manage and monitor business ‘best practice’ and legislative compliance. This role will lead and support the business in ensuring the highest level of compliance for all internal and external stakeholders, whilst providing analysis and insights for future growth.

As a General Manager , the successful candidate will partner with other members of the leadership team to deliver all aspects across McColl’s chain of responsibility whilst working collaboratively to deliver operational control and direction for the functional business unit.


About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a natural people leader with operational leadership experience in logistics.

You have a proven track record in building and developing high performance cultures within teams and enjoy the ongoing challenge of driving positive change, transformation and continuous improvements.

Importantly you pride yourself on your communication and facilitation skills which will enable you to successfully convert strategic objectives into operational business plans and processes.

To be successful in this dynamic role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational, customer-facing and strategic roles within the logistics industry;
  • Strong experience managing complex supply chains across multi- site operations;
  • Proven leadership  skills and ability to motivate a team;
  • Strong commercial acumen;
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to build cross functional relationships and collaborate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • The ability to work within a team environment as well as autonomously;
  • A high level of computer literacy and attention to detail;
  • Continuous improvement mind-set delivering on measurable outcomes;
  • A sound understanding of COR, NHVAS, BFM and Mass Management compliance accreditation systems and regulatory requirements;
  • Completed tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, with an MBA highly regarded.
