Due to expanding business we currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated and safety focused Mechanical Leading Hand/Supervisor. This is a permanent full time position, with an immediate start at our Geelong Workshop.
Hourly rates of up to $49.97, based on experience.
The key focus of this role is to provide operational support whilst ensuring that all team members work efficiently and effectively, while providing a high-quality service to our customers.
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the workshop manager with co-ordinating day to day Operations;
- Maintaining a safety-first operation and adhering to all WHS requirements, while furthering the safety culture through Safety Management Systems and reporting;
- Strong stakeholder interaction, including maintaining good working relationships and responding to all enquiries in a timely manner;
- Leading by example and setting the standard in performance of duties and tasks, by ensuring that operational objectives are communicated and achieved on a daily basis;
- Continuing to drive the positive culture environment and empowering our thriving team;
- Ensuring that site specific inductions, training, performance records and required paperwork is reviewed and completed accordingly.

About you

To be successful in this dynamic role you will have:
- Proven Driving or Supervisory experience within transport and logistics:
- Excellent customer service skills, communication, written and interpersonal skills;
- A strong focus on doing the job safely and compliantly with a solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility and Road Transport Legislation;
- A strong work ethic and customer focus;
- Ability to work within a team environment, as well as unsupervised.
To be Successful You Will Bring:
- Current Trade/Diesel Mechanic Certificate
- Cummins/Volvo experience (preferred)
- Prior BPW, SAF, Hendrickson suspension experience
- Prior experience servicing fleet equipment
- A strong focus on doing the job safely and compliantly
- Proven Driving or Supervisory experience within transport and logistics
- Excellent customer service skills, communication, written and interpersonal skills
- LVT (Licenced Vehicle tester) certificate highly desireable
