Kenworth’s 90,000th chassis rolls into McColl’sMcColl’s Transport is proud to have recently taken delivery of a new Kenworth T909 – bearing our in-house asset number P1100 – which also happens to be the 90,000th Kenworth truck built in Australia. While the milestone is significant in Australian manufacturing, for McColl’s this story is about more than a truck. It is about our people, our standards and the values that have shaped our business since the beginning.
P1100 has now entered service on the east coast of Australia, operating on one of the country’s most demanding freight routes. Behind the wheel is Chris Bouwmeester, one of our most experienced and respected drivers.
Chris epitomises what McColl’s values in its people: reliability, consistency, pride in the job and a genuine respect for the equipment he operates. He looks after his truck with the kind of attention and discipline that comes from a long career. And he goes about his work without fuss, delivers consistently, and sets an example for younger drivers entering the industry.
Chris’s connection to the transport industry also runs deep, with his father having worked in heavy haulage and previously operating a T950 Legend. Chris spent much of his childhood in the passenger seat, forming an early connection to the industry that has stayed with him throughout his career. Chris still has many kilometres ahead of him and continues to be the kind of operator we want others to look up to.
As P1100 begins to turn the wheels, it represents more than a new asset in the fleet. It represents McColl’s ongoing commitment to safety, reliability, professionalism and long-term investment in the people and equipment that keep Australia’s bulk liquid supply chains moving.
